Yesterday we started creating a visual dictionary to keep track of the different figures of speech. The assignment is below. We started with imagery which is language that appeals to the senses. It creates an image in our minds using sight, touch, taste, smell or hearing. If you didn't finish in class, your job was to divide two pages of your visual journal in half (front and back) and write the definition and an example in the first half. This assignment will be due MONDAY OCTOBER 22 (7A, 7C, 7D, 7E)
Students will be completing a rough draft/planning of their book cube once they finish their novel. Silent reading time can be used to work on this assignment, as well as independent time at home. The assignment and rubric has been posted below. The book cube is DUE right before winter break!
Group presentations have been moved to THURSDAY, OCTOBER 11! Mobile Escape is only one day next week, so each class will have Wednesday's Humanities class to work on and finalize their presentations. Be prepared with all props, visuals and scripts (or however you choose to present) for this date. We look forward to seeing your creativity! Tomorrow is your last day for research. You should have a good amount of information on your chosen First Nations group. The rest of the week (starting Wednesday) will be time to work with your group to put all of the research into a presentation.
Some people were asking for this so here is all the information and guidelines we went over. Please read it and do not start until teacher's have approved your ideas.
